CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – After falling in their season opener to Kenwood on Saturday, Clarksville Academy boys basketball bounced back at home on Tuesday.

The Cougars staved off a threatening second-half run by Davidson Academy to defeat the Bears 64-61.

Eddie Ricks finished with 20 points while DJ Merriweather scored 14 points for Clarksville Academy.

Davidson Academy’s Drew Jimenez had a game-high 23 points.

Clarksville Academy will head to Friendship Christian for a district contest Friday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Cougars outlast Lady Bears in narrow victory

Clarksville Academy girls basketball held on for a 51-46 win Tuesday at home against Davidson Academy.

Lady Cougar senior Diamond Bryant was able to ice the game down the stretch at the free-throw line.

Atyia Moss had a team-high 10 points followed by Makayla Artis and Shay Conn, who added nine points each for CA.

Clarksville Academy will look to make it three wins in a row for new head coach Charles Clark when they play at Friendship Christian Friday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m.

Wildcats go over century mark in win over Indians

Six players scored in double figures for Clarksville boys basketball Tuesday, as the Wildcats dominated en route to a 111-41 win on the road against Montgomery Central.

Asante Wimberly had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Indians.

Clarksville travels to take on rival Rossview Friday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. for their next contest.

Montgomery Central will face off against Northeast Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. on the road.

Lady Wildcats put together back-to-back wins

Clarksville girls basketball had no trouble Tuesday on the road against Montgomery Central, capturing a convincing 69-20 win.

The Lady Wildcats had 10 players get their name in the scoring column.

Clarksville will be back in action Friday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. for an away game with rival Rossview.

Montgomery Central also gets set to hit the road Friday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. for a matchup with Northeast.

Northeast handles Northwest in district showdown

Northeast boys basketball picked up a 60-43 win Tuesday on the road against Northwest.

The Eagles were led by Isaiah Farrior’s 26 points, four rebounds and four steals. Jaylin Miller also finished with nine points and six assists for NEHS.

Northeast takes on Brentwood Academy Thursday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

Northwest travels to take on Kenwood Friday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Vikings remain unbeaten on the year

Northwest girls basketball remains undefeated after taking down Northeast 59-48 Tuesday at home.

TaMia Scott led all scorers with 25 points while Nia Bogerty added 10 points and Kayla Howell pitched in nine points for the Lady Vikings.

Krysonie Mitchell had a team-high 15 points followed by Emoni McCray with 13 points for the Lady Eagles.

Northeast will host Montgomery Central Friday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. for their next game.

Up next, Northwest travels downs the road to Kenwood Friday, Dec. 4 for a 6 p.m. tip-off.

Hawks soar to easy victory over Coyotes

Rossview boys basketball recorded a 62-44 road win Tuesday against district foe West Creek.

Ronald Jessamy finished with 14 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks for the Hawks. Tim Williams Jr. also scored in double figures with 13 points followed by Messiah Ward with 11 points.

Rossview hosts rival Clarksville Friday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

West Creek will square off against Springfield Friday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Rossview girls get groove back against West Creek

Despite missing numerous players from their normal rotation on Tuesday, Rossview girls basketball coasted to a 60-22 victory at West Creek.

The Lady Hawks were led by Emani Collier with 15 points, Chelsea Williams with 11 points, seven rebounds and four steals and Laci Edwards with 10 points, four rebounds and four steals.

Rossview welcomes in rival Clarksville Friday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m.

West Creek plays host to Springfield Friday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m.

Clarksville boys basketball’s JJ Wheat hit the 1,000 career points mark Monday at home in a 74-46 victory over White House Heritage.

The junior guard scored a team-high 20 points followed by Charles Freeman with 11 points and Jaheim Berry with 10 points for the Wildcats.
