CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Montgomery County Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the 2900 block of Surrey Ridge Rd. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at around 9:30 p.m.

“The first arriving crews arrived with smoke and fire coming from the attic,” said a MCFD Facebook post. “The family of 4 heard the smoke alarms, grabbed their two dogs and escaped the blaze without injury.”

The family then sought out shelter next door as 9-1-1 was called. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in about an hour, and no injuries were reported at the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and the fire investigator is on the scene for the origin and cause investigation. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the displaced family.
