CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Player of the Week was a difficult choice this week, with plenty of impressive performances. However, one stands above them all after leading his team to a massive win Friday night.

Clarksville High running back Ahvare Galbreath rushed for 204 yards and two touchdowns, helping his team secure a 27-0 win over Rossview. Galbreath has been the Wildcats’ biggest offensive weapon all year, averaging 141 rushing yards per game, but he’s quick to give credit to his offensive line.

“We just came out, finishing blocks, just doing what we do best,” Galbreath told Clarksville Now. “My line was blocking well. The whole line was just blocking great. We’re just getting downhill, running the ball.”

With a new face at quarterback in sophomore Harrison Smith, Galbreath has had a lot of responsibility during his senior year. The good news for Clarksville is that he’s taken the increased workload in stride and is looking to help replicate the Wildcats’ eight-game winning streak from last year.

Clarksville High head coach Isaac Shelby says if Galbreath and the rest of his team can build on Friday’s performance, they’ll be in good hands.

“We have to continue to get better every week. And if this team does that like last year’s team and, you know, the year before that, I think we’ll see success in the end,” Shelby said.

The Wildcats will return to action Friday night against Overton High School.
