CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Northeast quarterback Kayden Davis has been named Player of the Week after throwing three touchdowns in a dominant 42-6 region victory over Kenwood.

Davis has been at the center of an Eagles offense that has been explosive throughout the season. Northeast has averaged 26 points per game and found success through the air, but Friday’s performance was arguably its most dominant of the season, with Davis leading the way.

Davis threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns while completing 16 of 22 passes. He also contributed at linebacker on the defensive side of the ball. His 58-yard touchdown pass to Damion Jarrett put an exclamation mark on the victory this past Thursday night.

Northeast head coach Deonte Weston spoke about the value Davis brings to both sides of the ball.

“He makes your offense completely better. It’s a completely different team when he’s on the field. But he’ll go on the defensive side of the ball, play linebacker and start for us. Not a lot of guys are doing that, but he knows we need him, and he’ll play just as hard on defense as he does on offense,” Weston told Clarksville Now.

Davis credited his teammates for the recognition and emphasized the importance of staying focused on the team’s success. “I just have to keep going to work, leaving my ego behind me and just play for my brothers,” he said. “My receivers are amazing. All I have to do is put it up, and they’re going to go get it.”

There is little doubt Davis has been one of the Eagles’ most valuable players this season, but the work is far from finished. Northeast now turns its attention to securing a playoff berth.

The Eagles can clinch a spot in the postseason with a victory over Dickson County on Oct. 23 or Northwest on Oct. 30.
