CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville High defensive back Colby Rotell has earned Clarksville Now Player of the Week honors after recording a multi-interception performance on Thursday night.
The senior recorded two interceptions against Siegel, playing a big role in helping take away the Stars’ offensive momentum. Rotell now leads class 6A in interceptions with four on the season, including a pick-six earlier this year against Rossview.
Rotell credited his confidence for putting him in position to make plays in the secondary. “I’ve just been playing with confidence and knowing what I’m able to do, and just going out there and balling out,” he told Clarksville Now.

While Rotell has been making an impact in the secondary, his focus has shifted beyond individual accolades. The next step for Clarksville High is proving it can compete with some of the top teams on its schedule, according to Rotell.
“I just want everybody to know that the guys on our team are good football players, and that they’re able to compete with the top teams,” he said.
Clarksville High will have opportunities to do just that over the next few weeks, including road matchups against Shelbyville and Antioch.
