CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Player of the Week features its first defensive selection of the fall. Kirkwood linebacker Lloyd Lisenbee has been named Player of the Week following his 10-tackle, three-sack performance in the Cobras’ shutout victory over Northeast.

Lisenbee has been a key player on Kirkwood’s defense for the past three years, helping communicate plays and lead the unit on the field. In his senior season, the linebacker has taken another step forward in production.

“I feel like our chemistry has gotten stronger, which helps us play better on the field,” Lisenbee told Clarksville Now. “We’ve only allowed seven points this year, and we’re going to continue to have performances that show our chemistry is through the roof.”

On Friday night against the Eagles, Lisenbee’s sack of Zabrian Ward helped stop Northeast’s best opportunity to score and preserve the Cobras’ shutout victory.

Kirkwood defensive coordinator Zach Eaton has also seen Lisenbee’s growth throughout his time with the program. “This defense is a lot older and a lot more mature. Lloyd Lisenbee has been a three-year starter for us, and has been a real leader,” Eaton said.

Now, Lisenbee and the Cobras will face their next defensive test against undefeated East Robertson. The Indians have scored more than 40 points in back-to-back weeks, presenting another challenge for Kirkwood’s defense.

2026-27 season stats

Up to this point in the season, Lisenbee has compiled 39 total tackles through three games and has consistently found himself in the backfield of opposing offenses.

The linebacker has 9 tackles for a loss already, to go along with 4.5 sacks secured.
