CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library hosted its first Summer Fest on Saturday at the North Branch. The event celebrated the conclusion of the annual Summer Reading Program.
The free event featured indoor and outdoor games, crafts, face painting and music activities for families. Artists from the Country Music Hall of Fame demonstrated instruments before inviting children to participate in an interactive instrument petting zoo. Food trucks were also on site.

Amanda Taylor, Youth Public Services Associate, said the event was a new and exciting way to celebrate the kids who completed the library’s summer reading program.
Laura Hoffman, Youth Services Supervisor, said the event was held during the final week of the summer reading program and followed the library’s Touch the Truck event, which kicked off the season earlier this summer.
“We are celebrating the end of a very successful summer reading program,” Hoffman said. “This is our last week and we kicked it off at the beginning of the summer with our Touch the Truck event. We wanted to bring the end of summer reading celebration over to our new north branch.”
Hoffman said the goal was to provide free activities for families while giving children an opportunity to explore music through the Country Music Hall of Fame’s visiting artists.
