CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Bob’s Discount Furniture celebrated the grand opening of its new store Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and check presentations.

The store is at 2821 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. near Governor’s Square Mall. Donation checks were presented to Youth Empowerment Through Arts & Humanities and Glenellen Elementary School.

The Clarksville location is the company’s 230th store and marks its expansion into its 28th state. Cam Perrino, store manager for Bob’s in Clarksville, said Bob’s selected Tennessee as the starting point for its expansion into the South. He said Clarksville stood out because of its growing population, military connection and diverse community.

“Tennessee is very community-centered, especially Clarksville, being a military town around Fort Campbell,” Perrino said. “We think this is a great community to serve because we have so many families here and so much diversity.”

Bob’s Discount Furniture collects donations through its in-store cafés and sells Bob’s plush toys, with proceeds supporting nonprofit organizations, including the USO. Perrino said the company donates more than $2 million each year to schools and nonprofit organizations across the country. During the event, Bob’s also announced a $100,000 pledge to the Dollywood Foundation in recognition of the late Dolly Parton’s work supporting children.

Bob’s Chief Operating Officer Ramesh Murthy thanked Clarksville for welcoming the company’s store. “We hope to be, and we plan and pledge to be, great community partners for you all,” Murthy said.

Bob’s Discount Furniture was founded in 1991 and operates more than 200 showrooms across the United States.
