CLARKSVILLE, TN – Student leaders from across Montgomery County were recognized for their service, leadership, and creativity during the Kentucky-Tennessee Key Club District Convention, held March 20-22 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Approximately 300 Key Clubbers and advisors attended the convention. A delegation of 46 students from five Montgomery County high schools attended the annual convention, including students from Clarksville High School, Rossview High School, Kirkwood High School, Northwest High School, and Clarksville Academy. The group was accompanied by six advisors and four Kiwanis volunteers.

The annual district convention brings together Key Club members from across Kentucky and Tennessee to celebrate service, leadership, and club achievement while preparing students for another year of impact in their schools and communities.

Montgomery County schools earned recognition in several categories during the convention. Clarksville High School, Rossview High School, Kirkwood High School, and Northwest High School each received Dues on Time Recognition, reflecting strong club organization and commitment.

Rossview High School earned multiple honors, including recognition in the Ronald McDonald House Awards at the Bronze Level, the “Life is a Highway” Award, and awards in the Recruitment Poster Contest. Rossview student Zoe Grady also placed third in the Oratorical Contest. Elizabeth Lanier received the $1,000 district scholarship.

Students from across Montgomery County were also recognized in categories including service fundraising, UNICEF support, poster design, public speaking, talent, and club excellence.

Among the convention’s top recognitions, Sophia Yoon was elected Kentucky-Tennessee Key Club District Secretary, Clarksville High School was named Most Outstanding Club in Division 15, Emma McKillip was recognized as Most Outstanding Key Club Member in Division 15, and Pattie McMillan received the honor of Outstanding Kiwanis Advisor.

“This convention is always an incredible opportunity for students to grow as leaders and to see the impact of service on a larger scale,” said Pattie McMillan. “We are proud of the way these students represented their schools and the Montgomery County community.”

Key Club is the world’s largest student-led service organization for high school students and is sponsored locally by Kiwanis clubs. Through service projects, fundraising, and leadership opportunities, students build character, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to helping others.
