CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon for the new Montgomery County VA Clinic at 647 Dunlop Lane in Clarksville.
Veterans, community members, VA staff and local officials attended the event, which celebrated the opening of the new clinic and its expanded healthcare services for veterans in Montgomery County and surrounding areas.
During the ceremony, VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System Interim Executive Director Dr. Kerri Fox said the clinic represents an effort to expand access to care in one of the fastest-growing regions served by the healthcare system. “Montgomery County is one of our fastest growing counties in our region,” Fox said. “We are so pleased to open up this Montgomery County clinic to expand our primary care offerings here in the region.”

Fox said the new facility will provide veterans with another option for receiving care closer to home while the VA continues planning for a larger multi-specialty clinic expected to open in Clarksville around 2030.
“This will bring a fifth opportunity for our veterans to continue to get served closer to home, closer to where they live and not have to make that drive all the way to the Nashville campus for much needed primary and mental health care,” Fox said.
Dr. Nicole Salloum, Chief of Primary Care, VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, said the clinic had been years in the making as veteran enrollment and healthcare demand continue to increase in the Clarksville area. “This is really a dream come true for the Clarksville area,” Salloum said.
“When I first came into this role, we had just moved into the clinic on Weatherly Drive and quickly realized that that clinic was not big enough to meet the needs of our veterans.”
According to Salloum, the facility includes four primary care teams and has the capacity to serve approximately 4,000 veterans. In addition to primary care services, the clinic will offer same-day mental health care, follow-up mental health services, dietitian services, social work support and laboratory services.
Following remarks, officials gathered outside the clinic for the ceremonial ribbon cutting before attendees were invited to tour the new facility.
The Montgomery County VA Clinic is part of the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, which includes medical centers in Nashville and Murfreesboro as well as outpatient clinics throughout Tennessee and Kentucky.
