CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Country music fans took a trip through the decades Thursday night as Country Music Hall of Fame group Alabama took the stage at the sold-out F&M Bank Arena, joined by special guests Larry, Steve & Rudy: The Gatlin Brothers.
The evening featured songs that helped define country music throughout the 1980s and beyond, drawing a crowd of longtime fans. Alabama, formed by Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry and the late Jeff Cook, gained popularity after beginning their career performing at The Bowery in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Over the years, the group became one of country music’s most successful bands, recording more than 33 No. 1 singles and earning three consecutive Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year awards from 1982-84. The band was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
Throughout Thursday’s performance, fans sang along to many of the group’s best-known songs, including “Mountain Music,” “Song of the South,” “Dixieland Delight” and “The Closer You Get.”
The Gatlin Brothers opened the evening with a performance featuring some of their biggest hits. The Grammy-winning trio is known for songs including “Broken Lady” and “All the Gold in California.” Over the course of their career, they have recorded seven No. 1 singles, more than 30 Top 40 hits and earned numerous awards.
Alabama has continued performing live shows following the death of founding member Jeff Cook in 2022, honoring his wish that the music continue.
