CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The man accused of the murder of 20-year-old Allison Tenbarge has been returned to Clarksville and charged.
21-year-old Quentin Bird was transported from Kentucky Wednesday and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. He has been charged with criminal homicide.
Bird is accused of killing Tenbarge April 19 at an apartment on Fairview Lane in Clarksville when she returned to retrieve property from Bird, who was her ex-boyfriend. An arrest warrant shows that Tenbarge was eight months pregnant at the time of her death.
Police also said Tenbarge suffered blunt force trauma and sustained sharp force injuries to her head and body. Further details about her death were not released.
Bird appeared in court this week in Lyons County, Ky. to face charges of 2nd degree burglary and tampering with evidence. The burglary charge was reduced to criminal trespass and the tampering charge was dismissed.
He is scheduled to appear in Montgomery County General Sessions Court May 5.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be presented to the grand jury in June.
