CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Rossview Hawks traveled to West Creek High School for the Region 7-3A semifinals against the Coyotes. The Hawks dominated possession, and despite a late goal from West Creek, a goal in both the first and second half let the Hawks soar into another region championship game on Wednesday.

The Hawks dominated for most of the first half, but couldn’t capitalize on many close opportunities. Finally, Ben Fitting was fouled in the box and buried the penalty kick to take a lead in the 34th minute, and the Hawks headed to the half up one.

The second half was a physical battle, with both teams knowing their seasons were on the line. No one could score, though, until Jay Jardiolin broke through the Coyote defense for a score in the 62nd minute, off the assist from Nick Highfill. Despite a late goal from West Creek, the Hawks escaped the Coyotes’ den with a win and a trip to the region title, ending the Coyotes’ season.

Thanks to Henry County upsetting Clarksville High 3-1 on Monday night, both district runner-ups were victorious, setting up a region championship between the Patriots and Hawks at Henry County on Wednesday. The winner will host a sectional match on Saturday, with the right to go to state on the line, while the loser will travel to Memphis for a sectional.
