Update, 3:35 p.m.: Traffic has returned to normal.

Update, 2:55 p.m.: The crash happened at about 12:03 p.m. and involved a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer, according to CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien. The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact FACT Investigator Creighton at 931-648-0656, ext. 5367.

The roadway is back open, but traffic remains backed up through the area.

Update, 2 p.m.: Northbound and southbound traffic remains backed up through the area, from about Needmore Road to past Interstate 24. Eastbound traffic is backing up on I-24. Ted Crozier Boulevard is also congested.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A crash has closed a portion of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard at Holiday Drive.

At about 12:15 p.m., Clarksville Police Department were investigating the crash, according to Lt. Charles Gill. Parts of the road will be closed until further notice.

“CPD asks the public to avoid the area until further notice or be prepared for long delays,” Gill said.

At 12:15, traffic was backed up from Highway Drive on both sides of Interstate 24.
