CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Montgomery Central freshman third basemen Mattie Hathcock has been named Clarksville Now’s Player of the Week for her play during the week of April 6-12. Hathcock batted .714 for the week, with 20 total hits for the Indians.
“It’s an honor,” said Hathcock. “It motivates me to keep giving my all every game.”
As just a freshman, Hathcock has been a huge addition to the Indians this season. She has helped lead Montgomery Central, which is currently in first place in District 11-3A, with an undefeated district record.
Indians head coach Chris Jackson knows just how special she is and how good she’s going to keep getting. “Mattie has been a pillar of consistency this season for us offensively and at third base,” said Jackson. “She is currently leading our team in batting average at .478.
“Mattie is a special talent, and I look forward to watching her grow and mature as a player.”
