CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville High sophomore designated hitter Lucas Lingg has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in the Wildcats’ games the week of March 9. During that time, Lingg hit .636, including a walk-off double against Hendersonville, as the Wildcats went 3-1 over the week.
“I’m really honored and grateful to get this award for playing a game I love,” said Lingg. “I couldn’t have done it without my teammates and all of my coaches pushing me every day. This just makes me want to keep working hard and do my best for Clarksville High School and our community.”
Lingg earned seven total hits over the week, including two doubles. His best game was a 3-3 performance against Blackman with an RBI and a run scored.
“Lucas Lingg has been a bright spot for the Wildcats,” said CHS head coach Brian Hetland. “When his opportunity occurred, he grabbed it and had big hits to help us win vs. Hendersonville and Dickson. He has given us an extra left-handed bat to balance our lineup.”
