CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Screaming Eagles Youth Cycling Team is gearing up for its third season and inviting local students and families to learn more about the team at an upcoming meet and greet event and fun ride at Rotary Park.

The Screaming Eagles are part of NICA, the National Interscholastic Cycling Association, and welcome boys and girls entering 5th grade through 12th grade. The team is open to students from Montgomery County, Robertson County, and northern Cheatham County.

As the team enters its third season, the Screaming Eagles continue to grow both on and off the trail. Last season, during only the team’s second year, one Screaming Eagles student earned the title of JV2 State Champion. Collectively, the team also completed over 100 hours of trail work, with much of that work taking place at Rotary Park, along with other area trails.

“We are excited to introduce more families to youth mountain biking and to continue building a team that focuses on skills, confidence, stewardship, and community,” said Coach Ronda Jacoby. “Racing is available for students who want to compete, but it is not required. Students can ride with the team, learn new skills, build friendships, and choose whether they want to race one event, multiple events, or none at all.”

The 2026 season officially kicks off in July with practices, and races begin in late August. This year’s race season includes five events across Tennessee, with race locations in Columbia, Gallatin, Jackson, Chattanooga, and Johnson City.

Families interested in learning more are invited to attend an information meeting and fun ride at Rotary Park, field near the Nature Center, on Sunday, June 28, at 4 p.m. Students do not need prior racing experience to attend. This is a great opportunity for families to meet the coaches, ask questions, learn more about the season, and see if the Screaming Eagles are a good fit for their student.
