CLARKSSVILLE, Tenn.- (CLARKSVILLENOW) Screaming Eagle Honor Flight to Washington D.C. announces its first flight of 2018 on May 6, 2018.
There are seats available. Priority goes to terminally ill veterans from any war or conflict, including World War II veterans, Korean War veterans, and then Vietnam War veterans.
During this one day tour the veterans get to visit the World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, the Air Force Memorial, and the Marine Corps Memorial also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial. They will also see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers.
Each veteran is provided a guardian, which is an individual who pays their own way for the privilege of escorting one of these heroes. These flights are free to the veterans. Honor flight also takes trained medical personnel to serve the veterans.
Applications for veterans can be downloaded from the website or picked up at the Montgomery County Veterans Service Office in Clarksville, VFW Post 11160 in Clarksville, Dover VFW Post 4730, or The Stewart County Veterans Service Office in Dover.
These flights are free to the veterans and are funded by the generous and patriotic donations of individuals, groups, civic organizations, and businesses throughout North Central Tennessee and South-Central Kentucky.
