CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On Monday afternoon, Gov. Bill Lee announced the appointment of Robert Nash to District Attorney General for the 19th Judicial District, which encompasses Montgomery and Robertson counties. 

Nash has served as an Assistant District Attorney in the 19th Judicial District since 2007.

“It’s a great honor, and I really appreciate the governor bestowing me with this position and his trust,” Nash told Clarksville Now.

Former District Attorney General John W. Carney Jr. officially retired on Aug. 31, and Nash will fill his vacancy. Nash said Helen Young was serving as District Attorney Pro Tem in the interim.

Nash earned a J.D. at Nashville School of Law and holds bachelor’s degrees from Austin Peay State University and Saint Leo University, according to a news release from the governor’s office

He is also currently running for District Attorney.

“This is strictly an interim position pending the outcome of the election,” Nash said.
