Update, 7:10 p.m.: The Warning has been cancelled. The Watch remains in effect. The CDE power outages are down to 460.

Update, 6:55 p.m.: About 2,100 CDE customers are without power, mainly in the northwest side of Clarksville. Outside the city limits, about 1,400 Montgomery County CEMC customers are without power.

Update, 6:41 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Montgomery County until 7:30 p.m. The storm is located 14 miles east of Erin, moving east at 50 mph with possible 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

“Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees,” the NWS said.

Update, 6:24 p.m.: Doppler radar is tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles northeast of Erin, moving east at 50 mph with possible wind gusts up to 50 mph and half-inch hail.

“Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible,” the NWS said.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Warm and mostly sunny conditions will continue Friday, with only a slight chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm.

A stronger system arrives Saturday, bringing widespread rain and storms along with gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service. Cooler, drier air moves in behind the system, with sunshine returning Sunday and highs dropping back into the mid-60s.
