CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A combination of sharply colder temperatures and gusty winds sent wind chills plummeting to just 10° early Sunday following the overnight snow.

Snow accumulations of 1.5″ were reported in Clarksville with twice as much just 30 miles north in Russellville. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said around 9 a.m. Sunday that main roads are passable, but many side streets are still slick. Use caution when driving today. Clarksville police responded to 14 crashes overnight and three of those were injury crashes. Rossview Rd. was especially troublesome Saturday night, according to police.

Wind chills in the teens and single digits are common across the region. 

The National Weather Service forecast indicates partly cloudy condition this afternoon, with additional chances for flurries in some areas.

It will remain cold, with highs only in the mid 20s to around 30.

According to a Special Weather Statement by the weather service, single digit wind chills and teens are expected through Sunday night.
