CLARKSVILLE, TN − Following their performance in two phases of online competition, Montgomery Central’s JROTC Leadership Team, comprising of Cadet Capt. Kenneth Reece (team captain), Cadet 1st Lt. Shelby Epps, Cadet 1st Lt. Grayden Cochran, and Cadet 1st Sgt. Ray Black, has secured a position in the championship event in Washington, D.C., set to take place on the campus of The Catholic University of America June 15-19.
The 2025 U.S. Army JROTC Leadership Bowl Championship is sponsored by the U.S. Army Cadet Command and organized by the College Options Foundation. Outshining 1,441 Army JROTC leadership teams from around the globe, Montgomery Central HS’s JROTC team emerged as one of only 40 teams nationwide to progress to the final competition, entailing an all-expenses-paid journey to the championship event in DC.
Throughout the preliminary rounds, cadets underwent assessments covering a spectrum of topics, including current events, leadership values, skills, and financial literacy. Notably, financial literacy videos, generously sponsored by the USAA Educational Foundation, were integrated into Levels I and II of the online competition, enriching the cadets’ knowledge base.
