CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The 2019 Montgomery Central Little League All-Star Girls Junior Division Softball Team beat St. Bethlehem 21-3 in the first game and 13-7 in the second last weekend to win the district tournament.
They will be going to the state tournament in Morristown, Tennessee July 7 & 8. This is the second year there has been enough girls to have a junior/senior league at Montgomery Central in about ten years.
The team is coached by Chris Hatcher and Gary Simon and Hatcher talked about the team. “These young ladies are phenomenal and so dedicated to win the state title that they are practicing four to five days a week and fundraising to be able to represent Montgomery central and Montgomery County. I’m so proud to be able to coach these young ladies this year,” said Hatcher
The team is holding a helmet drive fundraiser Friday, June 28 from 4-8 p.m. at Hilltop Supermarket, 400 Highway 149. There will be baked goods and car washes from Washtopia to help with the cost of competing in the state title.
