CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A man and his dog were shot by a man walking along Tobacco Road on Saturday.
Sometime before 10:35 a.m., a couple was inside their home on Tobacco Road when they heard gunshots coming from the roadway. Their dog ran into the home, and they discovered the dog had been shot, the victim told Clarksville Police. In an attempt to find the person who shot their dog, they drove down the road and saw a man walking. When they asked if he had shot their dog, the suspect reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the male victim in the back and leg, according to CPD spokesman Officer Scott Beaubien.
Police responded to the 911 call. The victim and his wife had already driven to Ascension St. Thomas Urgent Care at 1690 Fort Campbell Blvd.
Responding officers located a man matching the suspect’s description. He was identified as 30-year-old Roland Reeves and was taken into custody without incident, Beaubien said. Reeves was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with:
- Aggravated Assault (2 counts)
- Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony
- Simple Possession
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The victim was transported by LifeFlight to a Nashville hospital, where he was in stable condition. Clarksville Police had no information on the condition of the dog.
