CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Kirkwood High School junior running back Josiah Claybrooks has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in the Cobra’s 40-20 win over Kenwood on Friday. Claybrooks got it done on the ground consistently, rushing for 247 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries.

The Cobras faced a crucial matchup regarding playoff seeding with the Knights on homecoming last Friday. Claybrooks stepped up to the challenge and carried the rock consistently, assisting in the Cobras’ offense 40-point outing.

Now, Kirkwood heads into a key matchup with West Creek on Friday, and with a win they would host a playoff game and make the playoff for the first time in program history.

For Claybrooks, it’s on to the next game. “I feel honored,” said Claybrooks. “It’s a great award. However, I’m ready to strive for more greatness.”
