CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – As we get into the week, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky will be feeling the remnants of at least one of the unprecedented two tropical storms hitting the Gulf Coast of Louisiana and Texas within hours of each other.
Tropical Storm Marco will come ashore and move to the west while Tropical Storm Laura, the most powerful of the two, is expected to hit the Gulf Coast as a hurricane and after that is forecast to take a northeasterly path, which will bring it into our region.
Meteorologist Matt Reagan with the National Weather Service talked about Laura’s path after coming ashore.
“It is expected to lift northward and eastward as it gets up toward Middle Tennessee. Right now, it looks like we could have some strong storms and some gusty winds,” said Reagan.
Reagan added, Wednesday through Friday there’s a 50-70 percent chance of showers with 2-4 inches of rain possible along with gusty winds.
