CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The City of Clarksville is set to hold a grand opening ceremony to celebrate the new, 587-vehicle Downtown Clarksville Parking Garage on Monday, at 131 S. First St. Once the ceremony has concluded, parking inside the new eight-story parking garage will become available to the public.
“The new city parking garage is a key anchor of historic downtown Clarksville redevelopment, as the city anticipates a new Clarksville Performing Arts Center on Franklin Street and accommodates greater traffic volume and commerce in the city’s Central Business Improvement District,” said city spokesman Jimmy Settle in a press release.

Mayor Joe Pitts, alongside the Parking Commission chaired by Andy Kean, will lead the ceremony, which is expected to begin at 9 a.m. The new city garage can be accessed from Commerce Street, First Street, or through the Cumberland Parking Garage on the Second Street level.
The lower level of the new garage will be permanently reserved for public safety vehicles, and a pedestrian bridge connects the garage to Franklin Street at the Roxy Regional Theatre. Spring Alley running adjacent to the new garage, which has been closed through the construction period, will also be accessible on Monday.
Arena parking garage
Construction continues down the street on the parking garage being built by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board next to the F&M Bank Arena. It is expected to open in June 2025 with 511 spaces, EDC CEO Buck Dellinger confirmed to Clarksville Now.
