CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Budweiser of Clarksville is the first local business to pledge money for the Stokes Field Fund to make repairs at the Northwest Little League’s facility, which was badly damaged by vandals last month.

Appearing on Q108’s Ryan and Gretchen in the Morning, City Councilwoman Deanna McLaughlin said, “We want to thank Charles Hand and Budweiser of Clarksville for their generous donation of $1,000 toward the repairs.”

McLaughlin called the gift a major step toward the $10,000 fundraising goal.

McLaughlin and State Representative Joe Pitts established accounts through GoFundMe and Clarksville area Planters Banks to pay for repairs, replacement of stolen merchandise, and install security camera and monitoring services to prevent future thefts.

Shortly after Budweiser’s donation, Singletary Construction agreed to match it.

As of 12 p.m. Wednesday donations stood at $1,790.00 and Pitts said more could be expected soon as he begins to call on supporters personally.

The reward for information leading to an arrest or conviction in this case has been raised to $700. Anyone with information can call the Clarksville Police Department at 931-648-0656 or Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS (8477).
