CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A juvenile who was wanted in the theft of a BMW is in custody after resisting arrest and biting a Clarksville Police officer on the hand.

At about 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, surveillance video showed two young men walking through a driveway and trying to open vehicle doors, according to previous reports. After finding a vehicle unlocked, the suspects stole a white BMW 750i. The vehicle was recovered that afternoon near 445 Warfield Blvd. and has since been returned to the owner.

Detectives were also investigating several vehicle burglaries in the same subdivision on Shellie Drive, where two firearms were taken from separate vehicles.

One of them has been identified and was taken into custody Tuesday morning after a struggle with officers in which he bit an officer’s hand, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. The juvenile had a gun, and it was confirmed to be one of the weapons stolen during the Shellie Drive burglaries.

He has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, vehicle burglary, possession of a handgun by a minor, resisting arrest, and assault on a first responder.

Anyone with information or additional video footage is asked to contact Detective Carlton at 931-648-0656, ext. 5172. To remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward, submit a tip online at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Crime Stoppers website or call the Tipsline, 931-645-8477.
