CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The registration deadline for the 8th Annual Riverfest Regatta is Wednesday, September 3. Participants can enter as a group, with up to 8 people per entry, or as an individual.

The U.S. Bank Riverfest Regatta is not a typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River Saturday morning, September 6, will be made of cardboard or plastic bottles and a few other approved materials.

Not only will teams be racing for bragging rights, but trophies will also be awarded to the first, second and third-place teams in each division. Competition will be in four divisions: Adult Open, Business and Industry, Church/Civic, and City Department.

Prior to the race, boats will also be judged for the following awards:
• Titanic Award – best sinking of a boat
• Ship Shape Award – best boat design
• Cardboard Queen Award – prettiest boat
• Team Attire Award – most creative costumes
• Team Unity Award – most spirited and organized team

If you think you have what it takes, visit the Riverfest website to find out more information and to register online. All entries must be received no later than September 3.

Don’t miss the spectacle! Everyone is invited to watch as groups attempt to paddle their cardboard or plastic bottle boats to the finish line on the Cumberland River at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, at McGregor Park’s courtesy boat dock.
