Update, 5:35 p.m. Sunday: The death that occurred at the Salvation Army (210 Kraft St.) has been determined to be a homicide by CPD’s Special Homicide Unit.
Corey Allen of Sevierville, Tennessee, has been arrested and booked into Montgomery County Jail.
According to police, Allen has no known ties to the area. He and the victim, whose name has not been released, were both staying at the Salvation Army.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A person has died at the Salvation Army emergency shelter facility in Clarksville.
At 11:45 a.m., the police Crime Scene Team was processing the scene at the facility on Kraft Street, according to Sgt. Charles Gill.
“Based upon preliminary investigation, there is no reason to believe there is a threat to the public,” Gill said.
Police have not yet said the manner of death or what building the death took place in. The Salvation Army has a shelter with a dining area, a chapel and a thrift store.
No further details have been released.
