CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Daniel Castagna a graduating senior from West Creek High School signed for a three year scholarship to play rugby for Life University in Marietta, GA.

Castagna is the last of the original Highlanders who began his rugby career four seasons ago when the team first started competing in the Tennessee Rugby Association. A starter for all four years, Daniel was identified as an incredibly talented rugby player by the Life University coaching staff at one of their camps and when they witnessed Daniel’s play with the Tennessee Tri-Stars; the state’s All Star rugby team.

Being recruited by Life University is no small accomplishment. The Life University rugby team is a regular competitor for USA Rugby’s Division 1A Collegiate Rugby Championship: Only missing the title by six points to St. Mary’s in this year’s final.

Surrounded by family, friends, and coaches Daniel took the next step in his rugby career. Castagna’s potential is unlimited and it is likely that we will see him wearing the “red, white, and blue” of the USA Eagles in the future.

After graduation, Daniel has a summer of playing rugby for the Tri-Stars and the USA South Rugby team before reporting to Life in August to begin training and classes.
