CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – It’s the regular-season finale of high school football, with season-defining matchups in play. Kirkwood is looking for revenge against Henry County and a chance to win the first region title in school history Thursday night. I’m 58-14 on my picks through the first nine weeks.
Can the Cobras bring home the Region 7-5A championship? Find out in this season finale edition of Football in Clarksville.
Game of the Week: Henry County Patriots (5-4) @ #1 Kirkwood Cobras (8-1)
Kirkwood has held the No. 1 spot in Clarksville Now’s rankings all season, but Thursday presents an opportunity to prove the Cobras have taken the next step. They face a Henry County team that beat them 42-39 in the Region 7-5A championship last season.
This time, I expect a different result. Kirkwood has the talent to get revenge on the Patriots and capture the first region championship in school history.
Clarksville Now’s Pick: Kirkwood 35 – Henry County 27

#2 Clarksville High Wildcats (6-3) @ Cane Ridge Ravens (5-4)
Clarksville’s three-year region championship streak came to an end last week with a loss to Antioch, marking the Wildcats’ third defeat of the season. Clarksville moved the ball well at times but struggled to execute and finish drives with points.
This is a major get-right opportunity on the road before the Wildcats return to Hilda J. Richardson Field for their first-round playoff matchup. A strong performance would give them some momentum heading into the postseason.
Clarksville Now’s Pick: Clarksville 38 – Cane Ridge 10
#3 Rossview Hawks (4-5) @ Antioch Bears (9-0)
Rossview held its own against Nolensville in the first half Friday, but the floodgates eventually opened as the Hawks surrendered 28 unanswered points. Antioch presents another difficult challenge as the Bears look to cap off an undefeated regular season.
I expect Rossview to compete, but Antioch has been dominant all season. The Hawks will likely finish the regular season with the same 4-6 record they posted last year.
Clarksville Now’s Pick: Antioch 42 – Rossview 17

#4 Northeast Eagles (4-5) @ #8 Northwest Vikings (2-7)
Neither team has much left to play for beyond bragging rights in this Week 11 rivalry matchup. Northeast has secured third place in Region 7-5A and a playoff berth, while Northwest has been eliminated from postseason contention.
The Eagles will look to build momentum heading into the playoffs, though there may not be quite the same urgency we have seen from them in recent weeks. Northeast should have enough to close out the regular season with a win.
Clarksville Now’s Pick: Northeast 31 – Northwest 6
#5 Montgomery Central Indians (6-3) @ Spring Hill Raiders (7-2)
October has been a disappointing month for Montgomery Central after the Indians got off to a hot start this season. They have dropped two straight region games, both in lopsided fashion, against Creek Wood and Marshall County.
Now, the Indians face a Spring Hill team that ranks among the toughest opponents in the region. Montgomery Central will have its hands full on the road, and I expect the Raiders to come away with the win.
Clarksville Now’s Pick: Spring Hill 38 – Montgomery Central 21

Dickson County Cougars (3-6) @ #6 Kenwood Knights (3-6)
Outside of the Game of the Week, this matchup carries some of the biggest playoff implications in the area. One postseason spot remains in Region 7-5A, and the winner of Friday’s game will claim it.
Both teams have struggled in recent weeks, but Kenwood gets a boost with star running back Elijah King expected back from injury. His return could be the difference in a win-or-go-home matchup for the Knights.
Clarksville Now’s Pick: Kenwood 17 – Dickson County 10
Greenbrier Bobcats (1-8) @ #7 West Creek Coyotes (1-8)
It has been a difficult season for West Creek, which became the first Montgomery County team eliminated from playoff contention. The Coyotes now face a Greenbrier team that has struggled just as much throughout the year.
With both teams playing for pride and a chance to finish the season on a positive note, this one could be competitive. Still, I give Greenbrier the edge on the road.
Clarksville Now’s Pick: Greenbrier 20 – West Creek 10

#10 Clarksville Academy Cougars (0-9) @ Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Saints (0-9)
This matchup features two teams looking to salvage something from difficult seasons. Clarksville Academy has forfeited three games this year because of low participation, while Mt. Juliet Christian Academy has forfeited two for the same reason.
The Saints have scored just 30 points this season, while the Cougars have managed only six. Neither team has had much success, making this a difficult game to predict. Based on the scoring numbers, I lean toward Mt. Juliet Christian Academy, but a win would be a significant result for either program.
Clarksville Now’s Pick: Mt. Juliet Christian 6 – Clarksville Academy 0
