CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Academy athletic director Sean Wilson announced the hiring of new head football coach Rob Rininger on Monday. Rininger was the program’s defensive coordinator for the last three seasons.
“I am deeply committed to building a strong foundation and leading our student-athletes to success both on the field and in the classroom,” said Rininger. “My experience here has given me invaluable insight into our program’s culture, personnel, and the competitive landscape of the TSSAA Division II-A football.“
Rininger has over 12 years of coaching experience and serves as a 7th and 8th-grade social studies teacher at Clarksville Academy. Rob graduated from Austin Peay and now leads the Cougars into the 2026 football season. The Cougars went 7-22 in three years under his predecessor, Steadman Bell.
“I am extraordinarily excited about Coach Rininger taking the helm of our football program,” Wilson said. “He has a wealth of knowledge, and I look forward to collaborating with him to identify the new varsity staff and to build an overall program that teaches the game of football to student-athletes. The Clarksville Academy community looks forward to a new era of Cougar football under Coach Rininger’s disciplined and relationship-driven leadership.”
