CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Chris Lancia has announced his candidacy for Montgomery County Commission, District 6.
Lancia served more than 26 years in the Army before retiring in 2024. He currently serves as the Chief of Staff and Strategy for the Tennessee Department of General Services, where he supports statewide operations and strategic initiatives. He previously served as the state’s first Director of Military and Veteran Initiatives, and is President of the Night Stalker Association, a nonprofit organization that supports soldiers and families of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.
Lancia said his decision to run is rooted in a lifelong commitment to service and a desire to help guide the county through continued growth while preserving the character of local communities.
“Montgomery County is a place where people still know their neighbors, where farms and neighborhoods exist side by side, and where thoughtful planning matters,” Lancia said. “I’m running because I believe District 6 deserves leadership that listens carefully, plans responsibly, and works collaboratively to protect what makes our communities strong.”
District 6 includes a mix of rural areas, small communities and growing neighborhoods. Lancia said his priorities include responsible growth management, infrastructure planning, support for local agriculture and small businesses, and strengthening community connections for families relocating to the area, including military and veteran families.
Throughout his military and civilian careers, Lancia said, he has led large organizations, managed complex operations, and worked across government and community partners to solve problems. He said those experiences prepared him to serve effectively from Day 1.
Lancia and his wife live in Cunningham, where they operate a small farm and remain active in local civic and nonprofit initiatives. They have two adult children: Devon and Vincent.
Lancia is running unopposed as the Republican candidate. For more, go to Lancia’s Facebook page.
