CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Montgomery Central program landed five sectional champions Friday and Saturday at the Section 4 Championships in Millington, with seven total finalists and 12 wrestlers punching their ticket to the State Championships next weekend in Franklin.
Winning sectional titles for the boys were 106-pound Wesley Sudderth; 126-pound Jack Levendusky, who earned back-to-back titles after winning last year; 150-pound Tamarion Johnson; and 190-pound Cayson Rasch. Earning a trip to the finals and placing 2nd were 175-pound Josh Hodges and 215-pound Zach Nord. Also qualifying with top 4 finishes were 157-pound Alex Babuscio and 165-pound Wyatt Koffer who both took 3rd place, and 144-pound Caden Figueroa who took 4th place. Nine boys qualifiers ties the school record, set each of the last two seasons as the program is sending nine for the third year in a row.
For the girls, 152-pound Audrey Levendusky dominated her way to the title with three first-period pins; 114-pound Leah Minor and 165-pound Eva Crysel both qualified for the first time with 4th place finishes
Levendusky earned a sectional title in the inaugural season for girls’ sectionals, after previously winning three regional titles (2023, 2024 and 2026). The two-time state champion, three-time state finalist heads to State with a perfect 42-0 record on the season. She was also selected as the Regional Wrestler of the Year, a co-award she shared with West Creek’s Mariana Bowen.
Sudderth proved he’s one of the top 106-pound wrestlers in the state with a technical fall in the finals over #4 ranked Teddy Balicki from Martin Luther King. He moves to 46-4 on the season and the freshman is aiming for a state title next weekend.
At 126, Jack Levendusky rebounded from loss in the regional finals last weekend to win a sectional title on Saturday with an 8-2 victory in the finals over Harpeth’s Killian Gholson. Sophomore Levendusky is ranked #6 on MatClash and aims for his second state medal next weekend in Franklin. His season record is 44-8.
At 150, senior #1 ranked Tamarion Johnson dominated #2 ranked Tanner Alridge for the second week in a row after beating him last week at regionals, this time with an 18-3 technical fall in the sectional finals. It’s Johnson’s first sectional title and his second trip to State, where he went out in the “blood round” last season, reaching the top 8 round which is one round before the podium.
At 190, Cayson Rasch continued his dominant season with a fall in the finals over Fairview’s Julius Carter. Rasch is 45-3 on the season and is ranked #2 in Tennessee. Rasch also earned his 100th career win at the event.
The Indians team leaves Thursday for the State Championships, which begin on Friday.
