CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Lifelong Sango resident, veteran, community leader and 5th grade teacher Hunter Stapp has announced his candidacy for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board District 7 seat.
Raised by two public-school teachers, Stapp said he grew up with a front-row view of how schools shape families and communities. After graduating from Clarksville High School, he enlisted in the military and later earned degrees in Philosophy, Psychology, Education, and Computer Science from Austin Peay State University.
For more than 10 years, Stapp served as a pastor focused on children, youth and families. He also coached high school wrestling and has spent the past 11 years teaching in public schools, currently serving as a 5th grade educator at East Montgomery Elementary School.
Stapp has helped launch several community-centered businesses and organizations, including The Thirsty Goat, Sango Night Market, The Dairy Dog and Run-a-Muck Outfitters. He also served on the core team that launched Real Life Church in Sango.
“I want to use my experience and passion for helping others to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, families and teachers,” Stapp said. “I’m not a politician. Everything I’ve done has been about helping people grow and thrive. Serving on the School Board feels like a natural extension of that calling.”
Stapp will kick off his campaign with a community town hall and listening session at Real Life Church Sango on Sunday, Feb. 15, from 1:30-3:30 pm. Learn more at HunterStapp.com.
