PEBBLE BEACH, CA (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Hanley Long of Clarksville is facing off against Ina Kim-Schaad of Jupiter, Florida, in the U.S. Women’s Golf Mid-Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach, California on Thursday.

The two clashed after Long, 27, won her semifinals matchup with a dominant 6-and-4 victory, while Kim-Schaad knocked off the number one overall seed in the tournament, Katherine Zhu.

The tournament started with 64 golfers and on Thursday, the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship will be decided between Long and Kim-Schaad.

Going into the matchup, Long told Julia Pine, with the United States Golf Association, that, “This last year has been so difficult from a family standpoint, so for me to play this well and make it to the end, it’s something that has brought us all together. We’ve found the joy and the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Long also told Pine that her brother caddied for her this week, so they’ve been out there following the process and the game plan and executing. That was no different throughout the day on Thursday.
