Capstone Pediatrics continues to provide Clarksville families with the best quality pediatric, adolescent, and specialty care in the community. With 11 office locations in Middle Tennessee, including Clarksville, Capstone Pediatrics is a pediatric and adolescent center of excellence with a highly dedicated and integrated team of caregivers focused on delivering personalized, quality care at the right time, in the right setting to improve and maintain its patients’ health and well-being.

Its office in Clarksville is located at 800 Weatherly Drive Suite 201B.

“Our team of caregivers is passionate about serving families in communities such as Clarksville,” said Dr. Gary Griffieth, CEO and chief medical officer at Capstone Pediatrics. “We’re focused on providing quality medical care to children in Middle Tennessee and offering convenience for parents in Clarksville including same day appointments and extended office hours. We provide comprehensive services for children and adolescents from newborns to age 20.”

Capstone Pediatrics will expand this summer with two new offices in Middle Tennessee, including a Nolensville/Concord Road location and a new office in Franklin in August. In addition, Capstone Pediatrics’ subspecialty office, Specialists in Pediatric & Adolescent Health, will add new pediatricians who specialize in behavioral/developmental health and adolescent medicine.

Dr. Griffieth, who is board certified and trained at the Yale University School of Medicine, joins as a behavioral/developmental pediatrician, and Dr. Kristin Rager has been hired as an adolescent medicine specialist. Dr. Rager previously practiced with Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and served as an associate professor of pediatrics in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Health at Vanderbilt.

“We’re a pediatric and adolescent center of excellence and we strongly believe in taking the whole person into account, including their overall health, co-existing conditions, developmental and social well-being, and family, religious and cultural values.” said Winnie Toler, chief operating officer for Capstone Pediatrics. “There’s a great need in Middle Tennessee to address the complex issues that teens and young adults face and to effectively address developmental and behavioral concerns with early intervention. Drs. Griffieth and Rager will serve as valuable resources and work closely with general pediatricians, schools, preschools, community groups and other agencies.”

Behavioral/developmental pediatrics includes the treatment of autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, depression and anxiety, learning disorders, delayed speech, language, motor skills and thinking development, habit disorders, regulatory disorders pertaining to sleep, feeding problems or discipline and other behavioral and development problems resulting from a full range of pediatric illnesses and conditions.

Adolescent medicine specialists evaluate medical and behavioral problems within the context of puberty. Commonly treated conditions include teen pregnancy and contraception, sexual identity concerns, substance abuse, eating disorders, acne, allergies and growth and development disorders.

“We’re here to work alongside a patient’s general pediatrician or family physician to create an individualized care plan based on best practices,” said Dr. Griffieth. “We can evaluate and assess nearly every pediatric and adolescent health condition, but ultimately, we want the patients we see to reach their full potential under the care of their regular physician.”
