Charles “Perry” Baxter, age 74, of Tennessee Ridge, TN, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at his residence while surrounded by his loving family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Hudson Cemetery with full military honors.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home.

Perry entered this life on August 16, 1949, in Tennessee Ridge, TN, son to the late Charles Henderson Baxter and Lena Rivers Barnes Baxter. Perry faithfully served his country in the United States Army, and enjoyed giving back to his community as he would often volunteer at Bethesda Mission; Perry retired after 42 years of service with Quebecor of Clarksville; he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Perry was preceded in death by his grandson, Charles Tracy Smith Jr; siblings, John Franklin Baxter, Charlotte Day, and Terry Lee Baxter.

Survivors include his loving wife, Suzy Schmittou Baxter; children, Rebecca Rogers, Wendy (Tracy) Smith, Joe McGinnis; and brother, Jere Baxter. Perry also leaves behind his grandchildren, Stacey (Jeff) Johnson, Kari (Matt) Mathis, Shelby (Alex) Clark, Dallas Smith; great-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, with two on the way.

Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip Rediker, Jerry Barnes, Zachary Paxton, Caleb Rediker, Tracy Smith, and Matt Mathis.
