CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Bike riding, running and live music are the big themes this weekend, plus the return of the Downtown Farmer’s Market.
Queen City Road Race: For more than 40 years, Clarksville Parks and Recreation has put on the Queen City Road Race, which features a 10K along the Cumberland River and through McGregor Park, a 5K in Liberty Park, and a 1 mile fun run. The event also includes a two-day free Health & Fitness Expo. The expo will be Thursday, May 11, and Friday, May 12, from 4-7 p.m. at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, with the race on Saturday, May 13, starting at 7 a.m. Register online at the Queen City Road Race website.
Tour De Ville 2K23: A free bike ride through downtown Clarksville with stops at local music- and art-centered businesses featuring performances from all-local original acts. The event is Saturday, May 13, 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., with the ride from noon to 7. The first stop will be at 10 a.m. at The Guitar Haunt, with parking at the Dollar General lot. Downtown Farmer’s Market opening day: The first day for the free,open-air market featuring farmers and artisans who offer locally-grown fresh produce, food items, and handcrafted products. Enjoy live music, meet our Market mascot, “Corny the Cob0.” It’s all at Public Square downtown from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 13.
Live music at Beachaven: Live music outside, with a different food truck each day, for free at Beachaven Vineyards & Winery, 1100 Dunlop Lane. On Friday, May 12, 4-7 p.m. it’s Jacob Winn; on Saturday, May 13, 4-7 p.m. it’s Steel Ivory; Sunday, May 14, 2-5 p.m. it’s Anaka Grace.
Historic Collinsville Mom’s Day Out: Historic Collinsville Pioneer Settlement in rural Montgomery County, featuring hands-on activities for all ages. This event is free to mothers. $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 6-12, and free to under age 6. It’s 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at Historic Collinsville is at 4711 Weakley Road, Southside.
March to the Past: The Friends of Fort Defiance will host a day of 19th-century living history demonstrations including Civil War camp life, musket and artillery firing, period cooking, and children’s activities. The free event will be Saturday, May 13, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Fort Defiance, 120 A St.
