CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) — The final two remaining local high school football teams saw their seasons end on the road over the weekend. The Clarksville Wildcats dropped their second round game to Beech on Friday, and the Indians lost to the top team out of their region, Tullahoma.

Class 6A: Clarksville 7 – Beech 45

The final score did not reflect the game that was played in the first half. Clarksville High School forced two Beech turnovers and led 7-0 after one quarter of play. The Wildcats lone score came from a 22-yard run by Rayshawn Bowling in the first quarter. Clarksville had several opportunities to get the offense going with that lead, but two first half turnovers squashed any momentum the Wildcats had at that time.

Beech finally answered in the second quarter and followed it with a score off of a Clarksville special teams miscue. Beech took an eventual 14-7 lead into the half, then started the second half with an onside kick that caught the Wildcats off guard once more, and the Buccaneers capitalized again. By the end of the contest, Beech scored 45 unanswered points and punched their tickets to the Class 6A Quarterfinals, where they will meet Hendersonville. Clarksville ends their season with a 7-5 record.

Class 4A: Montgomery Central 7 – Tullahoma 42

Coach Jeff Tomlinson wanted a rematch with Tullahoma, but he wanted it with a healthy squad. In the first game back in October, the Indians were without Andrew White. In the rematch, the Indians were without even more key players like Kade Davis and Casen Cunningham. It would prove to be a large part of why Central struggled against the Wildcats.

Tullahoma took a 35-0 lead into the half and never let the Indians battle back in this one. Montgomery Central scored late in the 4th quarter with a Daily Vincent touchdown. Tullahoma will continue their season as they host Pearl Cohn in the quarterfinals. Montgomery Central ends their season with a 9-3 record and a trip to the second round of the playoffs.
