CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Teresa Cottrell, the current Chief Deputy County Clerk, has announced her candidacy for Montgomery County Clerk.
Cottrell, who will be running in the Republican primary, has been an employee of Montgomery County for more than 35 years.
For the past 15 years, she has served as the Chief Deputy for the Montgomery County Clerk’s Office, where she worked alongside County Clerk Kellie Jackson managing 45-plus employees, planning and managing the department budget, and keeping the office running. Jackson has announced that she is retiring.
As Chief Deputy, Teresa also updated and automated the bookkeeping system.
“It has been a privilege to serve the citizens of Montgomery County for the past 36 years, and I would be honored to continue serving them as their County Clerk,” Cottrell said.
Cottrell is married to Larry Cottrell, and they have four adult children. They are members of LifePoint Church.
