CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Leadership Clarksville has its first new executive director in over three decades: Richard K. Holladay, previously co-owner/manager of Waterdogs SCUBA and Safety.

Carole Dorris, the first executive director of Leadership Clarksville, is retiring after more than 34 years in the role. She started with the beginning of the program in 1987.

Holladay, who starts July 1, brings 30 years of leadership experience, beginning with a military career and continuing with managerial positions in the defense sector as well public affairs in the banking industry, according to a news release.

“I am humbled and honored for this opportunity to make a difference in our community. It feels like a calling I will answer,” Holladay said in the release.

Holladay earned a Master of Leadership Studies from the University of Texas-El Paso and graduated from the U.S. Army Sergeants’ Major Academy. He is a member of Leadership Clarksville Class of 2019.

Leadership Clarksville Board of Trustees President Darwin K. Eldridge commended Dorris for her many years of exemplary leadership and said he looks forward to working with Holladay in this new era.
