CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – First Baptist Clarksville voted Sunday after their 10:30am service to confirm Dr. Ronny Raines and his wife, Angie, as the new Senior Pastor of the church.

This comes after the Pastor Search Committee and deacon leadership unanimously recommended Pastor Ronny and his wife to the church. With a 99.4% congregation affirmation, the Raineses accepted the offer in the early afternoon of Sunday, and will officially join the staff and church in December.

“There was just a different atmosphere, a renewed sense of unity and love was felt in the room,” one church member said in a news release. The church’s previous Pastor departed the church in 2018.

Pastor Ronny Raines and the Pastor Search Committee of FBC Clarksville began conversations in late June. The Search Committee narrowed their list down to four final candidates. After two of those candidates dropped out, the search committee was united on pursuing Dr. Raines and Angie.

“God just made it abundantly clear over and over again that Ronny was our guy,” said one committee member in a news release.

Under the new leadership and direction of Pastor Ronny Raines, the staff of First Baptist will begin planning on how to better the Clarksville-Montgomery County community as the holiday season approaches.

The new Pastor and his wife will transition during the next several weeks and become residents of Clarksville. Dr. Raines will have regular communication with the staff and church as he begins envisioning how to impact the community.

Dr. Ronny Raines and his wife, Angie, currently reside in Tallahassee, Florida. He holds a Masters of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
