43 of the state’s 95 counties have reported at least one confirmed case of the flu and health officials are urging vaccinations.
“Getting a flu shot not only protects you, but it can protect the people who can’t get a vaccination such as very young children and people with certain medical conditions,” said Montgomery County Public Health Director Joey Smith.
The flu virus is contagious and can cause fever, headache, cough, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing and body aches.
Flu shots are available at the county health department at Veteran’s Plaza on Pageant Lane.
