CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – After four years as the head coach of the Kenwood Knights, head coach Brian Beaubien has decided to step down. Kenwood will be the fifth team in the area that will enter the 2017 season with a new head coach.
Beaubien’s said his choice to step down was in the best interest of his family.
“Two years ago my wife started her own accounting firm in the Donelson area of Nashville. We moved from Clarksville to Nashville at that time. I have been commuting 130 miles a day for the last two years, an average of about two and a half hours a day on the road,” Beaubien said.
Beaubien and his wife are expecting their third child this summer.
“Our third son will be born in July. It has just become no longer practical for me to make the commute to Clarksville,” he said. “It is a decision I have struggled with for the past couple of months as I have been invested in the kids at Kenwood for the last four years. I love them very much, but for my family, it is what I need to do. I will be pursuing job opportunities in the Nashville area close to my home.”
Kenwood will now begin the search for their new head coach. Clarksville Academy, Rossview, Ft. Campbell, and Northeast will all enter 2017 with new head coaches.
