CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Academy has hired Cleveland Bryant III as its new head girls’ basketball coach, the school announced Monday.
Bryant takes over the Lady Cougars following Charles Clark’s departure in May, and he brings three decades of experience in youth and collegiate basketball to the program.
The Clarksville native has collegiate coaching experience at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and Brescia University, where he served as an assistant coach before becoming the head women’s basketball coach at Community Christian College in 2025.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Bryant to the CA Athletics family,” Clarksville Academy Athletic Director Sean Wilson said in a press release. “Cleveland brings a wealth of knowledge, strong local roots, and a proven track record of player development and program growth. His commitment to student-athlete success both in the classroom and on the court aligns perfectly with the core values of our school and our athletic department.”
Bryant is a familiar name in Clarksville basketball circles. He founded the Tennessee Hoopsters AAU program and has directed the organization for more than two decades, giving him extensive experience developing players in the area.
He now takes over a Clarksville Academy program that went 17-14 last season and earned a district tournament victory over Goodpasture Christian.
