CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Hot and mostly dry weather will continue through the workweek, with temperatures holding in the mid-90s and heat index values topping 100 degrees.

With heat indexes up to 109 expected, a Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Clarksville and the surrounding area from 10 a.m. Tuesday to 9 p.m. Thursday.

“Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors,” the NWS said. “Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.”
