CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man has been charged with child neglect and simple possession, among other charges, after investigators intercepted a package containing two pounds of marijuana shipped from Denver, Colorado.

According to an arrest warrant, the officer intercepted the package, obtained a warrant, and discovered the marijuana inside. The officer and an agent from the 19th Judicial Drug Task Force then visited the suspect’s home on Cobalt Dr. to investigate.

When they arrived, a 3-year-old answered the door and said no one was home. The investigators waited 30 minutes for the suspect, 23-year-old Anthony Milton Johnson, to come back to the residence. They asked to speak to him inside and smelled marijuana when they entered.

After securing a warrant and searching the premises, they found drug paraphernalia and more marijuana, as well as a receipt for a wire transfer from Denver for $4,800. Investigators also found photos and texts on Johnson’s phone that indicated he was involved in the sale of narcotics.

Johnson was charged with conspiracy, unlawful drug paraphernalia, simple possession, and child neglect. His bond was set at $57,000.
